Finally! We were able to reinvent this delicious dish!
I ate at Boiling Crawfish in Jacksonville, Florida and I fell in love with the flavors!
Now if you haven’t figured out yet from viewing my DINNER FOR TWO page, then let be again express my deep LOVE for seafood and I am talking about anything seafood; fish, shrimp, oysters (singles or clusters), clams, mussels, scallops, crawfish, lobsters, blue crab, snow crab, king crab, dungeness crab even conch! I love it fried, steamed, boiled, roasted, cold, raw…
In a nutshell, if it’s from the sea, see me eat it!

I’ve always been a fan of the movie Cast Away, mainly because I think Tom Hanks is an outstanding actor. In the movie, Hanks is stranded on a deserted island. He’s forced to rely on the sea for food. So he ate plenty of fish and other scavengers during his 4-year journey. In the end, when he makes it back home he’s greeted with a luncheon. From his facial expression, he DID NOT seem too please about the cold seafood tower concept of the food buffet. Well, I guess he was just tired of eating seafood but I hope I NEVER get that feeling… Back to my Copycat Boiling Crawfish meal!
OUR BOILING PLATTER CONSISTED OF:
12 oz Hillshire Farm Beef Sausage
2 Corn on the Cob
4 Fingerling Potatoes
1 dozen Clams
1 pound Argentine Shrimp (our fave!)
4 Dungeness Crab Clusters (hubby fave! Blue Crab is my 1st choice always!)
BEFORE YOU STEAM!

In the cavity of the crab clusters, sprinkle with Ole’ Bay Seasoning then spread butter over the cavity. This helps to flavor the crab meat inside the shell. We then sprinkle Ole’ Bay seasoning over all the ingredients. Also, I love to add butter to my corn as well!
TIME FOR THE STEAMER!
In the base of your steamer, add 12 ounces of beer (Corona is our fave!) and 12 ounces of water. In the steamer basket add all your boiling platter ingredients. Keep in mind, your platter can consist of whatever seafood options your prefer!
