Supplies:

• Deck of Cards
• Markers
• Stickers
• Hole Puncher
• Ribbon

 

1. Punch two holes on the of each card, about 2 inches apart (holes in the exact location)
2. Decorate 1 joker as the cover and the other as the back cover
3. On each card right 1 reason why you love your mate (be creative, use stickers, draw hearts, etc.)

 

The Old Oak Tree

Supplies:                 

• lock with key
• ribbon or string
• stock paper

Location:                  the perfect oak tree

Instructions:    

1. Use the stock paper to create a tag.
2. Be creative!
3. Decorate one side and on the other write:

Always hold on to the key, For it unlocks the old oak tree.

Include the location of the tree and the date.

4. Attach the key to the ribbon and tag.
5. On the lock tie some bright colored ribbon as a marker.

What’s next:    

Locate the perfect tree; in your yard, at a park, etc. Once located, attach your lock to sturdiest tree branch of your choice. Select a branch that is thick enough to endure rough weathers. Also, make sure to attach it towards the top of the branch and not the end because you do not want it to fall off or get cut when the tree is trimmed. (BTW you may need a ladder.)

Now Share the Surprise:

Plan a romantic picnic for two under the oak tree and share laughter and love. Towards the end of lunch have your mate stand in the perfect location to see the lock (and the colored marker), look into his eyes and say:

I compare our love to an old oak tree.

The limbs represent our history,
