Shrimp & Gravy
1 pound Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
3 slices of Bacon
2 tablespoons Butter
1 Onion, chopped
1 Bell Pepper, chopped
1 Garlic Clove, minced
2 teaspoons Ole Bay Seasoning
Ground Black Pepper to taste
4 tablespoons All Purpose Flour
½ cup Chicken Stock
Dash of Tabasco Sauce
1 Green Onion, chopped
- In a frying pan, fry bacon until browned and crisp.
- Remove from pan and drain. (bacon will be used later)
- Add butter to bacon grease.
- Once butter sizzles; add bell pepper, onions and garlic.
- Place shrimp in a bowl and toss with seasonings and flour.
- Add floured shrimp in frying pan, stirring constantly.
- Once shrimp coating begins to brown, whisk in stock.
- Add Tabasco sauce and reduce heat to low.
- Simmer a few minutes, until gravy thickens.
- Serve over chicken flavored grits.
- Sprinkle with green onions and crumbled bacon.
