March has finally arrived, and on the 4th, we celebrated our 29th “Day We Met” Anniversary! Looking back, we realize that the most beautiful parts of our life together were never carefully planned. They grew quietly over time, just like the seeds we plant in the garden. Through every season, the joyful ones and the difficult ones, we kept growing together. We are still learning, still growing, and still grateful for the journey we share. The path may not have looked the way we expected. Though it has led us exactly where God wants us to be. And the best part is our story is still being written.
As always, we are thankful for the support of our community who follows along with our journey. What began as a small step toward healing and rebuilding has grown into something much bigger than we ever imagined. It has become a place where people can gather, learn, and find peace through gardening and homesteading.
Our Harvest
In the garden, we are preparing for the arrival of spring. We are also refreshing beds as we get ready for the abundance that warmer days will bring. There is something special about this time of year; every tiny seed planted carries the hope of what’s to come. Before long, the garden will be filled with fresh greens, herbs, and starter plants ready to share with our community.

As the days grow longer here on the homestead, we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes. We are preparing for our spring plant season. Our seed trays are filling up. We are carefully starting hundreds of seedlings. They will soon make their way into gardens throughout our community. If you’ve ever started plants from seed, you know it takes time, patience, and a lot of attention. Every day we’re watering and checking soil moisture. We’re also adjusting the light. We make sure each little sprout gets the best possible start to life. It’s one of our favorite parts of the season, the joy of watching tiny seeds transform into strong, healthy plants.
All of this work now is leading up to April 1st. On that day, our starter plants will officially be available for sale here at Bradley’s Homestead. Our goal is to provide strong, healthy plants. They are already off to a great start.
Our Animals
Each season reminds us how much we depend on the daily blessings from our livestock. The bunnies have grown so much in the past 9 weeks. Five have been re-homed, and we decided to keep two for now. The hens faithfully kept the eggs coming through the winter. We are blessed that our egg customer list is steadily growing! This month, we also processed our 2nd batch of meat chickens and sold out of those as well. Our first pig was processed at the USDA butcher. We officially sold out our first batch of pork within hours. There is a special kind of joy that comes from offering farm-raised products to our community.

We had a wonderful moment at Bradley’s Homestead Farm in Salters, SC, on March 2nd. Roxie delivered a beautiful heifer calf. Watching new life arrive on the homestead never gets old, and this little one was a true blessing to witness. Roxie is a seasoned mother, and it certainly shows. From the very beginning, she has been calm, attentive, and incredibly nurturing. She has been caring for her calf, making sure she stays close, well-fed, and protected. The new calf, Pluto, is already growing stronger each day and staying right by Roxie’s side. We look ahead to watching Pluto grow and thrive on the farm.

This season, we are honored to partner with the Carolina Teen Center through our “Grow A Row” initiative.
As part of this effort, we are providing the organization with garden boxes. They will be filled with vegetable and flower starter plants from our homestead nursery. These gardens will allow the teens to learn the basics of gardening. They will experience the joy of growing something with their own hands.
The purpose of this partnership is to help introduce young people to:
-Gardening and how food is grown
-Healthy eating and fresh produce
-Responsibility through caring for living plants
-The therapeutic benefits that come from working in the soil
We are grateful for the opportunity to support the Carolina Teen Center.
We look forward to sharing this new season with you.
