My favorite month awoke wrapped in snow. February is the month of love, and it has arrived with both warmth and sorrow in my heart. As I continue to grieve the loss of my beloved Aunt, the purity of the snow felt like a quiet reminder of God’s promises.
This Valentine’s Day will mark my 49th birthday, and on February 25th, Stacey would have turned 28. I find myself pausing to reflect on the life I once had with my little family… and the life we now live together as a couple, carrying both love and loss. Through it all, I am holding on to God’s grace, trusting that it will continue to see us through.
Our Harvest
We are 37 days away from the first day of Spring, and we are diligently preparing for our early spring garden. Our seedlings are growing beautifully, and we will have a vast variety of starter plants available in the coming weeks.
For our first batch of starts, we focused on gourds, herbs, a few leafy varieties, along with tomatoes and peppers. Meanwhile, we are hard at work in the garden preparing our boxes for the season ahead by cleaning out old debris, loosening compacted soil, and replenishing nutrients with compost and organic fertilizer.
To achieve a nutritious harvest, we must first ensure the foundation is strong. If you’re planning your spring garden, now is the time to start! Follow our journey, and feel free to message us to reserve your starter plants or to learn what varieties will be available this season.
Our Animals
Daisy’s bunnies are growing so fast! They are absolutely adorable and so playful. I could watch them for hours. Thankfully, we’ve found loving homes for all 7 of them, and they will be rehomed in about 4 weeks.
In other homestead news, we’ve taken our first pig to the USDA butcher, which means pork will be available for sale next month, along with our broiler chickens. All meat can be purchased directly from our homestead or our farm in Salters, and we also offer weekly delivery on Thursdays.

Bradley’s Homestead has been invited by the Rehoboth Garden Club to be a guest speaker at Rehoboth Methodist Church in Cottageville, SC. I will be sharing our personal journey of how gardening helped save me during one of the hardest seasons of my life. I will also discuss how we began homesteading and how working the land helped bring healing after the loss of our only child.
