Our Harvest
This fall, we are currently growing garlic, onions, radishes, turnips, arugula, endive, cabbage, collards, bok choy, spinach, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, and varieties of lettuce. During this time, our garden is primarily composed of cool-season plants that thrive in cooler temperatures and can tolerate light frost. Just this week, we had a light frost, so we will be monitoring the garden to see if any plants are affected.
Since we are now offering starter plants, I decided to utilize the greenhouse and grow some herbs for early Spring, so I’ve been monitoring that as well. Despite not having an overabundance of fresh vegetables and herbs, I have taken the time to stock our Farmstand with our dehydrated vegetables and herbs. Currently, we have seasoning blends and teas in stock.
Our Animals
Our Dexter cows have finally made it to their new pasture and are adjusting well. We currently have 3 1/2 cows: Roxie (is pregnant and due in April), Nebula, and Napoleon is our bull. We will be adding Nola in the coming days.
We are pleased to announce that we successfully completed the meat handler inspection, so we can now sell our farm-raised meat to the public. We are so thankful for the opportunity to expand Bradley’s Homestead operation.

(from right to left) Carnal and Angela Bradley have shown us so much support from sowing seeds into our organization to being the stewards of the land in Salters. Shannon Bradley, our little sister, and our cousin Sheila McCrea-Alston (sister cousin) always assist us, without hesitation, whenever needed.
